
Born in Debrecen, Hungary, bassoonist DAVID ADAM NAGY began playing the bassoon at age of 14 under the tutelage of Edit Kubinyi in the Kodaly Zoltan High School of Music. In 2005 and in 2007 he won the National Competition for Secondary School Bassoon Players. In 2007 he was the sole recipient of the Kodaly Award - an award given to the best young musician and student. He has been a guest performer and soloist with many orchestras including the Musica Sonora Sinfonietta, the BME Symphonic Orchestra and the Kodaly Zoltan Chamber Orchestra. In 2007, Mr. Nagy began his studies at The Bard College Conservatory of Music and is currently studying with Marc Goldberg. He participated in numerous masterclasses and studied with Gyorgy Lakatos, Gyorgy Keszler, Gabor Meszaros, Frank Morelli and Richard Ranti.
In addition to his musical achievements, David is the manager of the Bob and Beverly Bernstein Collection of Recorded Music, brought to Bard College through funds from the Ford Foundation.
